Departmental Sponsors: College of Arts and Sciences - Themester, Art@IU, Department of Theatre, Drama & Contemporary Dance

Organizers: Art@IU

In this Shakesperience, we will explore networks along a scale, moving from virtual to digital to physical.

"Imagine", involving people tweeting as characters from King Lear, has already begun and will continue through February. Look on Twitter for #kingleariu to see what Shakespeare's characters are up to today.

ART @ IU invites you to participate in its Shakesperience Themester Twitter Vine! Between November 6 and December 6, 2013, groups of any size will create their own short 6 second vine inspired by lines from William Shakespeare’s King Lear.
The Specifics:

  1. With your group, choose a line from King Lear to serve as inspiration for a vine. (The Vine app is available for Android or iOS)
  2. In a clever way, showcase your chosen line in your 6 second film!
  3. Post your film to Twitter with #kinglearvine. Use your chosen line as your caption when you post your video.
  4. All submissions posted by December 6, 2013 will be accepted for public showing and selected vines will be featured on IU Theatre’s Facebook page.

shakespearience"Embody" will be the culmination of the project, on December 6-7, when you can come out and participate in a live performance of scenes from Shakespeare. You will be conducted through the performance on your smart phones or other devices, navigating Facebook and Twitter, real life and the internet, to engage with live artists and the others in attendance.
