Take a trip to Uplands PEAK, Indiana’s first farmed animal sanctuary, 35 miles from Bloomington. Meet the resident cows, pigs, goats, and chickens and hear a presentation about issues in animal agriculture today - including its impact on the environment, animals and human health.
Location: Uplands Peak
Date and Time: Sunday, September 16, 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
A chartered bus will depart from and return to Bloomington's IU campus.
Over a complimentary vegan lunch, sanctuary co-founders Michelle and Mark Pruitt will discuss why and how growing numbers of people are adopting a vegan diet. Experienced in sanctuary management, the Pruitts will also discuss how to set up and run nonprofits. Both the round-trip bus transportation and the lunch are free. Space is limited and registration is required. Registration is currently limited to IU undergraduates. Faculty interested in attending should contact Julie Gray at email@example.com.
