Course Description

From microscopic gut bacteria to wild chimpanzees, the hormones and behaviors of organisms interact and respond to changes over contemporary and evolutionary times. This course will focus on humans and nonhuman animals to explore questions such as: How similar are the endocrine systems of closely and distantly related species? What external factors influence hormone levels and the general structure and function of the endocrine system? Through this course, you will gain insights to evaluate these questions and more. Prerequisites: Junior or senior standing and an introductory course in Bioanthropology, Medical Science, Psychology, or Biology; or instructor consent.
