Art provides a means to express one’s truth. Truth is often thought of as absolute, objective, and unchanging. The Grunwald Gallery of Art's new exhibition “Truly, in All Sincerity” questions these beliefs. The exhibition explores the multifaceted nature of truth through contemporary art.
The exhibition includes works in photography, video, and installation that draw upon truth's subjective and relative qualities. Examine these works and their interpretations of truth from October 13 to November 11.
“Truly, in All Sincerity” exhibits work from five artists from across the United States. One of these artists is Betsy Stirratt, Director Emeritus of the Grunwald Gallery of Art.
“I hope ‘Truly, in All Sincerity’ makes visitors think about what's actual reality and what's not,” said Stirratt. “That's a theme that is important right now. We do not always know whether what we see and read online is real, including with newer media created with or by artificial intelligence. The exhibit will include several objects that I have either made or collected. The things that I have made might actually look like something found in nature that I could have collected, but in fact, the object is something that I made.”
Grunwald Gallery has frequently worked with the theme provided by Themester.
